The Forrest Rockets turned in an impressive all-around performance, rolling to a convincing 42-8 victory over Creekwood.
Forrest was explosive offensively, finishing with 425 total yards, including 303 yards on the ground. Quincy Mitchell led the way with a huge night, rushing for 201 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries. Mitchell scored on runs of 62, 22 and 84 yards.
Quarterback Micah Morgan was extremely efficient through the air, completing 9 of 11 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. He also made a big impact with his legs, rushing four times for 102 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Jon Hightower led Forrest with four receptions for 59 yards, including a 41-yard touchdown reception from Morgan. Jacob Tincher added two catches for 47 yards, highlighted by a 51-yard touchdown catch. Isaac Cruse caught two passes for eight yards, while Mitchell added one reception for eight yards.
The Rockets were just as impressive defensively. Forrest held Creekwood to 207 total yards and only eight points while creating turnovers and consistently keeping the Red Hawks from establishing any offensive rhythm. Grant Todd was in the middle of two of the biggest defensive plays, intercepting a Creekwood pass and recovering a fumble for Forrest.
After Creekwood briefly took an 8-7 lead late in the first quarter, Forrest completely took control. The Rockets scored the final 35 points of the game and did not allow Creekwood to score again.
Isai Garcia was also perfect in the kicking game, converting all six of his extra-point attempts.
It was a complete team effort for Forrest, with an explosive offense complemented by an outstanding defensive performance in the Rockets' 42-8 victory.
