MITCHELL SCORES SIX TOUCHDOWNS AS FORREST DEFEATS MOUNT PLEASANT, 54–26

Forrest combined an explosive offensive performance with a strong defensive effort to defeat Mount Pleasant 54–26.

The Rockets’ defense limited Mount Pleasant to 110 rushing yards, intercepted a pass and helped Forrest build a commanding 34–14 halftime advantage. The defensive front kept pressure on quarterback Kale Scott and held him to minus-33 rushing yards, repeatedly giving Forrest’s high-powered offense opportunities to take control of the game.

Quincy Mitchell delivered a huge performance for the Rockets, rushing 22 times for 345 yards and five touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 104 yards and another score, giving him 449 yards from scrimmage and six total touchdowns.

Forrest piled up 602 yards of total offense, including 460 yards rushing.

Micah Morgan completed 6 of 11 passes for 142 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Morgan also carried six times for 64 yards and two touchdowns.

Jacob Tincher caught two passes for 24 yards, while Mitchell had two receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown.

Tegan Warner rushed three times for 27 yards, Easton Johnson had two carries for 23 yards, and Isaac Cruse added one yard on one attempt.

Mount Pleasant finished with 322 yards of total offense, rushing 25 times for 110 yards and passing for 212 yards. Scott completed 14 of 33 passes for 212 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Hunter Holt led Mount Pleasant on the ground with 121 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown. Jaylen Easterling rushed twice for eight yards and a touchdown, Braydon Parish had three carries for eight yards, Maleek Green carried once for six yards, and Scott finished with minus-33 yards on five attempts.

Easterling led Mount Pleasant’s receivers with six catches for 102 yards and a touchdown. Johkai Amos caught three passes for 82 yards, Holt had two receptions for 23 yards and a touchdown, Junior Nelson caught two passes for four yards, and No. 23 added one reception for one yard.

Forrest was penalized five times for 67 yards, while Mount Pleasant was flagged seven times for 40 yards.
