Rockets Blank Community 49–0; Reserves Finish Strong

Forrest built a 42–0 halftime lead and finished with a 49–0 victory over Community, combining an efficient offensive performance with a defensive effort that carried through the final whistle.

Quincy Mitchell opened the scoring with a six-yard touchdown run at the 8:38 mark of the first quarter. Isai Garcia added the extra point for a 7–0 lead. The defense quickly joined the scoring when Jon Hightower returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown with 6:23 remaining. Garcia’s kick pushed the advantage to 14–0.

The Rockets took control with four second-quarter touchdowns. Mitchell broke loose for a 53-yard scoring run with 9:50 remaining, and Micah Morgan followed with touchdown passes of 33 yards to Jacob Tincher and three yards to Isaac Cruse. Morgan capped the first-half scoring with a two-yard touchdown run with 19 seconds remaining. Garcia converted all six of his extra-point attempts, sending Forrest into halftime ahead 42–0.

Mitchell finished with 89 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries. Morgan added 35 rushing yards and a touchdown while completing six of eight passes for 80 yards and two scores without an interception. Tincher caught two passes for 43 yards, while Cruse had three receptions for 31 yards.

Forrest’s defense limited Community to 97 total yards. Hightower’s interception return, two Community fumbles lost and two blocked punts helped the Rockets control the game and repeatedly put the offense in favorable position.

The reserves deserve special recognition for their work during a second half played with a running clock. The reserve defense kept Community off the scoreboard and protected the shutout, including a late stand that ended with Community turning the ball over on downs near the Forrest goal line.

The reserve offense made its only substantial possession of the second half count. Teegan Warner connected with Colton Matlock for a 32-yard gain, Easton Johnson added an eight-yard run, and Warner finished the drive with a 10-yard touchdown run with 4:58 remaining in the third quarter. Cayden Hodgeman added the extra point to complete the scoring.

Those contributions made the victory a full-team accomplishment. The starters established the commanding lead, and the reserves finished the job with a scoring drive and a scoreless second half.

Forrest finished with 142 rushing yards and 112 passing yards for 254 yards of total offense. Community managed 81 rushing yards, led by Kaidyn Brown’s 27 yards on five carries. Kaeden Hensel completed two of six passes for 16 yards with one interception.
